Hello from Dayton, OH. I don't know where you are in Ohio but if near Columbus we have a kilt night almost every month. You will see the posting on this site.

How have I gotten by without a kilt?
Well, I started on the pipes first for my own enjoyment. Was mentored by a family friend who was in the Cleveland Memorial Pipes and Drums many years ago. (CMPD is, unfortunately, in the news a bit right now due to a bit of infighting brought about by the Inaugural Day parade.) Then I gravitated toward playing hymns on the pipes, being as I'm the Music Director at my church and all. The appeal of the pipes and those familiar tunes on them has gotten around in my area a bit, now I'm becoming a bit more "public". So, in short, I got by without a kilt for so long because for several years it's been just playing for myself, friends and family. This is slowly changing, now I'm playing a couple times a year for other churches, mostly on Sunday nights. One church has floated the idea of a full blown "concert" of an hour or two of hymns (I'll throw in a few traditional tunes, too) some night. For this, I think traditional highland dress would be more appropriate. Hence my search.
For the record, I'm of german ancestry, but fell in love with the sound of the pipes when I was just a little kid. I did, however, marry a lass of the Clan MacKay. German + Scot = Why is our son so stubborn?
