I'll be wearing my saffron kilt with rifle green hose, brat, & caubeen; white short sleeve uniform shirt, shamrock buckle brogues, tricolor flashes, and brass sheillah on a green rosette, piping the St. Patrick's Day parade in Boqueron, Puerto Rico.

I'm always dressed rather casually. So on St Patty's, i'll probably be in my SWK Irish National (Economy) with a t-shirt. Maybe my white hose with the shamrock
same one as pictured here:

Does it look right to wear hose while also wearing a t-shirt?

I don't see a problem with it.

We will again be doing a St. Patricks Day festival--this year right at home in Charlotte. (Actually, 03/14). I'll be wearing my Irish National 8 yd wool kilt, green hose, a green polo and, depending on weather, possibly a cream-colored sweater. Oh, and I MAY wear my green derby (not one of those cheap plastic things!!). If not, it will be my Harris tweed flat cap inherited from my Dad. Any Charlotean's stop by the fudge and nuts booth and say "Hi".

When I'm piping, I wear a pseudo-Irish military uniform.

When I'm a civvie, I wear a plain green shirt and jeans...maybe my Irish rugby shirt.

I say "wear the green and be proud"!! There is always a 12:05 Mass on St. Patrick's Day at St. Mike's in Flint ("the Irish parish"), followed by an "Irish Family Walk" (some families carry banners) through downtown Flint to the venue where the post-Mass dinner and party will be held. EVERYBODY wears green, and some wear kilts, and a piper always plays at Mass. These folks include a lot of the men from the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Lady Hibernians, along with Irish immigrants and those of Irish ancestry. One thing to keep in mind...spoken in my very best Flint..."Aint nobody better call ANY of the folks here a "plastic Paddy"!!"! You would certainly NOT like the result (not to be stereotyping, but Flint + Irish = TOUGH!!!)!
Unfortunately, I will not be able to go this year because it is on a week day and I teach over an hour away from the festivities. A few years back, my neice was 1st runner up as "Miss Hibernia"...the above mentioned festivities are grand!

I will wear the most green tartan kilt I own, my Ancient Douglas tank, with lovat green hose, tartan flashes, a white polo shirt and kelly green sweater, with my Irish caubeen. That will be my work attire and afterwork casual attire as well, although I might swap out the green sweater for my Guiness hooded sweatshirt if I end up in a partying mood. Will post pictures after to let you all critique the look.
Might swap out the caubeen for a matching tartan flat cap (just to see folks reactions here) for a picture or two.
