Contest the charges on your credit card. You should be able to at least get your money back. For $565, you'd think they'd get their act together and do what they're supposed to do.

Definately contact the Indiana State's Attorney's Office first thing Monday morning. Not receiving your kilt after almost a year is totally unacceptable business on their part. Had they contacted you to let you know it would take that long to get your kilt made and given you the chance to back out of the deal that would be a different matter. It does not appear that they did that. It makes absolutely no difference if they were busy all summer with games or not, that long of a delay is uncalled for. I've had the unpleasantness of having to take an issue to our State's Attorney against a cobbler for damages to some pretty expensive western boots and had the satisfaction of knowing that I was in the right. The matter was resolved without having to go to court about it which was good. Good luck on this matter.

Credit card companies usually allow you to dispute a charge up to 60 days. I had an interesting experience with a disputed charge recently. I called the credit card company and said I wanted to dispute a charge and would follow up this telephone call with a letter (as required by the terms of service). I explained that I had no success trying to resolve the complaint myself.

The agent offered to call the business right then and include me in a conference call. We did that, and this unreachable company (no published telephone number, no reply to email) immediately said "Sorry - we'll credit your account while you are on the phone." I think the company was prompt to fix the problem because their (obvious) error was described in front of a third party.

It was only after the telephone call that I noticed that my credit card billings include a telephone number for every business. Perhaps your credit card company can offer a similar service (be sure to call when the business would be open).

    Where in Alaska are you?
