SportKilt is OK - but I prefer a USAKilt or a Stillwater. They hold their shape and their pleats better.

    7) Send one to Steve at Celtic Croft.
    8) Save one for a 100% wool, 16-oz kilt kiltmaker to be named later.
All my money? What good would it do to send each of those guys 10 bucks ?!

It's like Phogfan can see into my world... LOL I bought a SportsKilt and found this site, so I went to SWK and bought a Saffron in the Standard, I then ordered a Casual from Rocky and had it at my home in about 10 days with an added rush charge( quite reasonable I might add) and last night I shopped Celtic Croft and tonight I plan on placing an order for a belt....

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I have no doubts now that this will not be my last kilt. I will be buying one in Elliot (probably modern, not sure), but it is sadly an uncommon tartan so tends toward the pricey side. It may be a couple of months, but I will be buying one. As far as the pictures go, I'm working on it. Hopefully, I'll get some assistance on it, and be able to post them this weekend. The SportKilt I ordered is in Black Watch (Elliot wasn't one of the available options there ). The colors in the Black Watch tartan are very nice, if somewhat dark. The nice part is that with it being so dark, it goes very nicely with a vest I bought earlier this week.

The fabric on the kilt is rather light, and I could see the wind posing a problem in a kilt of this weight. I really intended this kilt to be a kind of test run - to see if I would be comfortable wearing a kilt. I fully plan to buy a nice one next so that weight (and whatever other issues one might have with a SportKilt) won't be a problem. The Mint Hill Highland Games are this weekend down in Charlotte. Assuming the weather holds (it's kinda doubtful at this point), I'll be there on Sunday.

Elliot tartan? Talk to Sir William, he has one - look below, light blue/orange one, 2nd from left.

Funny how it looks orange, but the Tartan ferret says maroon.
You're not kidding, it's very expensive!

Oh and congratulations on your first kilt!

Yep, that would be it. I'll have to find out where he got it. Man, that looks good.

Why wait for a kilt night or Celtic Games? Come on, strap that kilt on and go for a walk, if you have a dog even better (people love kilties with their dog). Go for a stroll anywhere to see and feel the real freedom you were talking about. Why wait , you're not getting any younger?

This was actually part of my plan. Although I'll have to skip on the dog part, as I don't have one and I don't think my cat would take too well to being on a leash. I have choir practice tonight, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Just as well, really, since my hose, belt, etc arrive tomorrow.
