I put them on the same hangar. Saves some of my scarce closet space; but more importantly, saves me the dreaded "where the hell is my waistcoat, my jacket is right here!" time.

This way, the waistcoat and matching jacket are always in the same place.

Well, like I've been saying, I hang the waistcoat inside the jacket, on the pants bar of the jacket hanger.

Anyway, I've been making an adjustable pattern for a waistcoat. When I'm finnished, I should be able to make waistcoats, as I find the material that I want, to go with any of my jackets, or on their own. I'll be able to choose diferent neck lines and cuts... so we'll see what happens.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I have noticed in the last year that many of our super-stores here in the UK, that sell clothing as well as food, are hanging waistcoats and trousers on a kind of hanger-within-a-hanger. If you can imagine a plastic strip that looks like this:

    O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O

and hangs vertical from the top hook of the hanger. The 'Os' are holes and the '-' are twisty bits. This allows all manner of accessories to be hung from the same hanger, but each being on a separate hanger is individually accessible. My wife and I are off to Tesco this afternoon to see if we can 'acquire' one of these to test it out.

Ted, please keep us posted on your adjustable waistcoat pattern. I have been looking for something similar myself - one basic design with alterations to suit the occasion.

    Regards

    Chas
