One thing about this choice is that you may be perceived as being part of the wedding party if you dress just like them. I would say dressing in the Argyll with a normal tie and the tartan hose spread collar shirt may be just the ticket, this way everyone should know that you are a guest, think of it this way, you would not wear a tuxedo to a wedding unless you were in the wedding party. To my mind the same goes for Prince Charlie especially before 6p.m.
