    Wally posted a pic a few months back with a black kilt and white jacket.

    Bottom line I think the Humphrey Bogart tux look could translate well into a kilt if done with care.
    Having seen this picture, I withdraw my suggestion of going with a Mess Jacket, and advise sticking with black. There are plenty of light-weight fabrics available with an open weave for the hot climes. Go with one of those if you are going to get it made for you.
