Pleating challenge #3: pleating an asymmetric tartan

It actually _is_ really simple, provided that you don't have a double width of fabric. You just can't apply all the rules that you normally would for a symmetric tartan.

Is it at all possible to make an invisible join if you have double width fabric and asymmetrical sett? I can't come up with a solution to match both sett and twill.

Kind of depends on what you mean. If you mean that you have a double width of fabric that you want to join at the back matching the tartan and the twill _and_ the selvedge, then, no, you can't. If you're willing to put a hem in the kilt, then, yes, you can match the twill line and the tartan, provided that the tartan doesn't have too big a sett and your kilt isn't really long.
