Couple of real onions, forget the onion soup can/mix, taters and carrots and celery, bay leaf and other assorted spices and a bottle/can of Guinness. . . rump or chuck or even a London Broil. Cook it all day 'til it's falling apart. . . guess what we're having soon!
(but tonight it's the "Peruvian" chicken stew with quinoa, gotta eat semi-healthy most of the time. . .)

I didn't have any potatos! I didn't even know I would be cooking the roasts this soon, but they didn't fit in the freezer.
Normaly I would have all kinds of stuff to throw in the crock from out in the gardens, but like I said, the flow of the Chi has been disrupted back there, and I'm having to move the gardens. Guess I could have thrown an agave in there...

So you mean to tell me that you didn't even have any potatoes in the house!!! My family would have thrown you out the window if there was no potatoes with dinner haha.

crock pot barbeque
This is one of my favourite ways to cook barbeque, since we don't have a grill. (ah the wonders of renting, recently graduated, poor life) Especially if there are ribs to be had! Just a bottle of your favourite bbq sauce, and your ribs in a crock pot. Set it on low, go to work, some back in the evening and the pigfest commences!! Works great if you want to do shredded pork or chicken as well, only you have to allow time for cooling down, pulling the meat, and placing it back in the juices to absorb all the tasty goodness.

I've grown potatos in our cool season. You can put a cage around them and put compost and straw around them as the plant grows upward, kind of like a tower, and then that fills up with potatos.
When I get the situation worked out, I will start growing vegetables again.

heh
When I was a kid we would stack used tires around the plant, fill it until it grew tall enough for another tire. Then we would remove the tires and boom! POTATOES!

Exactly; I don't have any tires. It's the leaning tower of Potatos.
Back in college, I lived off potatos and milk for a few years. If you roast them for a long long time, you can eat them without any fixings.
You can also wrap an onion up in foil and roast it on a grill or in the oven, and it comes out very sweet.
