It was because of this, that I settled on my Mother's clan, (she came from Mull). I could have also claimed Boyd, Leslie, and Ross. . . . but there the connexion is further back. Just a thought.

    Linton

Our family hails in part from a John Linton. With all the research I've done and family lore, he is purported to have come from Scotland (b. @ 1815) through Canada to New York state. There is some indication that he may have been titled. After that, our research is clear. But there are many mysteries.

My paternal grandmother's maiden name was as close as we could get to a clan sept. It is a sept of both MacGregor and MacLaren. We chose MacLaren because they had cake at their clan tent. It's the little things that make the difference in life.

I haven't joined a clan society. I wonder if the clan bearing my family name has cake? Or maybe lemon cookies.

Is Tartan for me a book? If so does it have anything about the surname Jarvis? Who is by and who is the publisher?
