I do recall both were listed as 16oz. I have the Ulster, Maple Leaf (both from F&K) and 16oz Locharron Douglas sitting in front of me. To my untrained eyes and hands they feel very, very close in thickness. The F&K tartans feel much softer to the touch. I seem to remember that F&K uses Merino wool - not sure if this is the difference. Living just a few blocks from F&K I can also say that Gordon is very helpful.
