Thanks for posting this topic! I too have been searching for these types of shirts! They are difficult to find. I have searched the surplus military stores,
and the color situation is the biggest problem! Might have to settle for the white ones if I can find the correct size!

I've not looked, but I'd say Joly is right. Finding 60-70s vintage military khaki shirts I'd bet is getting a bit hard...most have been worn out...many were worn by Boy Scouts over the past years, but I haven't seen them in quite a while even.

Regarding the white shirts, you'll be happy to know that the new US Army Service Uniform (usually known as Class A/B or Army Greens) has taken that vintage tan military shirt with the epaulets and turned it white and that will be our new Class A/B shirt...so you should see white variants of this readily available thru commercial vendors in the near future.

I'm kind of sad about it...the original proposal was a medium-dark grey herringbone twill weave shirt of the same style that I though looked really sharp with the dark blue coat and light blue pants...but alas, they didn't consult me. HMMMM...wonder if Marlow-White has any of those grey shirts still available? They had started having them made before the Army Uniform people changed their minds and switched to white shirts.

You can also look for pilot's or aviator shirts. I have always seen them in white, but there may be other colors.

    J. Higgins has them in their paper catalog, but not their on-line one:

You could call them, or request a catalog be mailed....
