For me it’s more a question of mood -- extrovert vs. introvert.
I cannot "blend in with the crowd" in a kilt.
If I’m ready and willing and eager for that then well and good.
But if I’m not in that mood, or choose not to be in that mood, then that’s good as well, and I’d best not wear a kilt.

Never thought about wearing a kilt in public. I always have been. As a teen, I was tall, and one of the fastest runners on the cross-country team. Not too many of my classmates had the to say anything about it to someone who is much taller than them and could easily outrun (catch) them.

Used to ride bulls, now I wear kilts. I picked up my Lindsay from the dry cleaners today, the lady there asked if I could come in when I am wearing it someday. She said she gets to see lots of kilts but she would love to see them with a "man in them". I think I'll round up some of the local rabble and make her day.

I was nervous the first time... then I noticed peoples reactions... their actions or reactions to seeing a 6'2" 270 lb guy in a kilt.. and some smile and nod.. while others pretend not to see you... others just avoid eye contact...its really humorous...and it empowers me.. makes me stand a little taller.. and gives good feelings... I have not really had any negative comments.. other than good nature ribbing from friends..
