Sheltering from the rain!

I love this shot a lot - the old Hanseatic Buildings on Bryggen in the rain.

Mum modelling her rain wear in front of one of the Bryggen shops.

Unicorn figure on one of the shops.

Some of the Bryggen shops.

Thanks for the pictures, Trefor. What a wonderful trip to take with your mother! You both look great.

Looking down an alleyway between the Bryggen buildings. A fire would have been unlikely after the downpour!

Looking along Torget - the Market is on the right.

Then we took the Fløybanen Funicular Railway up to the summit of Mount Fløyen from where you get spectacular views over Bergen (in between showers!)
View of the Nordnes Peninsula.

Dessverre jeg kjenner ikke - alas I don't know. They mainly seem to be clothes and touristy type shops on Bryggen though.
I didn't know that Enhjørning meant Unicorn but I do now!

Zoomed from the top of Mount Fløyen all three Fred Olsen ships that were in port at the same time can be seen.
On the right is Black Watch, to the left are the Boudicca and the smaller Black Prince, the latter due to be sold to become a casino somewhere in South America at the end of the season.

View of the central part of the city. The lake is in Byparken (City Park.)

And looking towards the southern outskirts of the city.

Right, time for a kilt photo! This is me atop Mount Fløyen with the Nordnes Peninsula in the background.
The kilt is in Cornish National tartan and came from the Scotweb Balmoral range.

And in portrait mode.

And Mum enjoying the view.

Scenic view from Mount Fløyen. The land in the background is a large island called Askøy.

And a shot in the direction of Troldhaugen, the home of Edvard Grieg.

And talking of Grieg here is the Grieghallen Concert Hall which once staged the Eurovision Song Contest!
