Ahh Jamie, you think you know me so well... I say go for the sporran as Robert truly makes a beautiful leather product. As for protection from the frigid Pacific waters might I suggest you cover your body with chum and other assorted fishy bits? I understand sharks are repeled by such odiferous smells.

My dear lovely wife, I seem to recall that we discussed how these photos were NOT going on XMTS when I agreed to pose for them!

GDub,
Even the half wetsuit made a huge difference. It was a bit cold, truth be told, but a lot more enjoyable than body surfing with just swim trunks. So there is something to be said for keeping your core warm. I was able to stay out in the water for a lot longer than before. I don't know if if was the cold or fighting the currents but boy was I tired when I got home!

Thanks Grant for the kindly offered advice. I will endeavor to repay this kindness appropriately at some future date.
Cheers

Keeping the core warm is essential, but how much more was the suit with full arms and legs plus a pair of booties?
Not trying to be a pill, but surfing/belly boarding is so much more fun when one is not freezing one's appendages off.
Good on you though for getting out there and going for it. I'm such a wimp when it comes to cold ocean water--and I was a hard core SoCal surfer back in the day.

Wow, you are a bit gullible aren't you dear? What did you think I was asking you to pose for.
Duh!
Be well,

Even as you read, Bournemouth is being provided with an artificial reef to create a surfing beach - they get 'natural' surf only when the wind is in the right direction.
The large tubes filled with sand will be positioned so as to create surfing waves in most conditions of wind and tide, according to local government sources.
The town hopes to cream off the weekend surfers, tempting them with shorter drive times than the traditional spots in the West Country.

An image of a man in a wetsuit with a kilt comes to mind. >:-) That would plaster the internet! Get the wetsuit. That's a good price for one and you may not be able to get one next time they go on sale.

A new hobby!
You're all set, except for gas bills, though. You can't spend a mint on boogie boarding, though if you get the urge to stand up, oooohhhh, yeah. Custom boards? major cash outlay.

No not you unless you're strapping on a rubber suit and imitating a seal in shark infested waters. Brave man though it took me 20 years to go swimming in the Great Lakes for fear of shark attacks. Promblem is there 'aint no sharks in fresh water! I'm blame Spielberg .
