    This might sound like a silly question, but in the shot of the different-colored trees, are the yellow ones a different species or did they just turn colors sooner than the others?

    The answer is yes they are different species.Most of the yellow trees are Silver Birch,the red-ish ones are the Mountain Ash(Rowan),I can see Alder and Oak too.As to the green softwoods I can see Scots Pine,and Sitka Spruce.In another,later, picture you will see a large dose of dark green Sitka with splodges of yellow, that will be Larch.

    Jock, I hope this is the only type of argument that you have with a tree.
