I enjoyed this! My wife is Protestant and I am Catholic so we do this every Sunday (both services). Yesterday, we were asked to bring the offertory up at Mass and I was about 5 feet from the priest and he busted a smile and said "Love that kilt".

I wear my kilt to church regularly. The one day I wore the dreaded p@#$%, My pastor hollered out, "Frank, I didn't recognize you with pants on". That drew unwanted attention from several old ladies that were talking to him.

For over two years now, since I got my first wool kilt, I have been reading the lessons kilted whenever I'm scheduled (about every four to six weeks). When I arrived at church last Sunday I found that the service bulletin seemed to indicate that the psalm was to be read in unison instead of responsively. When I asked the rector about this he said,"It's your choice. You can read it all yourself, or responsively by half-verse or by verse, you and the congregation or the left side of the nave and the right or men and women . . ."

When I asked, "Scots and Irish?" he laughed.

I attend church every Sunday and always wear a kilt. Yesterday a young lady in the congregasion (sp?) approached me and said, "You always look so nice and I'm pleased to see you upholding your tradition." Said young lady is about 13 years old and for the record (not that it matters) is Balck.

As we are leaving churck after service, I am often approached by one or more of the men who say that they wish they had worn their kilt and how good I look in mine.

It would be nice to see more kilties at church, as for now, I'm the only one.

It's always nice to get nice compliments, isn't it? Keep on looking good for church.

I've just started going back to church after an 18 month hiatus. But I'm attending a new church, so I didn't wear my kilt the first time I went (which was this past Sunday). But, if a guy in his early 40s can wear a bright lime green zoot suit with matching converse shoes to church, I think they'd be fine with a kilt wearer.

I always wear a kilt to church, sometimes as part of a semi-formal outfit, sometimes casually.

Just kidding! I wish I could wear a kilt to Church. Well, I certainly could, but no one would see it, as it'd have to be under a cassock. Hmmm... a kilt and a cassock... both are unbifurbicated...

The very first time I wore a kilt to church, I was sing in the choir. It was very comfortable under the heavy choir robe. And raised a lot of eyebrows during the recessional.

Let me get this straight: you remove your vestments for the closing procession? Or you wear a short robe?

Long robe, but you can see the socks with no pant legs showing. The robe I used was for a person shorter than me. So the hem probably was 10 inches off the floor.

I wear a kilt to church every time I go there, unless it is -20 and windy, or I have to climb a ladder for some kind of maintenance work.

Presbytery meetings as well.
