My favorite reply that ive been able to come up with todate was tonight after a great meal down here in Dumfries with Robertson (P1M), His lovely lady Emma, Trefor (McClef) and Michael. with three of us in kilts some neddette sp? shouts out the usual "Are you ture scotsman?" and I turned round with "Which one of us!"
The hielan' man he wears the kilt, even when it's snowin';
He kens na where the wind comes frae,
But he kens fine where its goin'.

My response when asked by a charming young lady in a bar is usually... For $5 I'll tell you, for $10 I'll show you and for $20 you can find out for yourself! I have been bartered down to a beer more than once however....

If it's an attractive lass asking, I sometimes respond with "Are your hands warm?". If it's a guy asking just to be a jerk, my response has been "Woops, wrong bar." If he's asking out of curiosity and there's a lot of lively dancing going on, I might tell him "same as you". If I'm being impish, I'll tell him "use your imagination" just to see how he reacts. Pint of ale: $4.50. Reaction to "use your imagination": Priceless.

Every kilt wearer needs to be prepared for THE question. My top three (largely depending on the situation):
3). "Shoes and Socks"
2). Put my hand out as to grab their hand and ask "are your hands warm"?
1). "On a good day, lipstick!"
A word of warning. You should be prepared for what ever happens should you use number 2). ...

Seems that way! I have more brothers than I ever thought! This is awesome!

Lots of great responses, most of them not surprisingly cheeky and wonderful.
Chuck Norris? Love it!!!!!!!
Fact of the matter is every 'asker' knows it's the kilt-wearer's wedding tackle. They just can't help being drawn to the magnetic quality of a man in a kilt.
