    Sweater, all the way. Looks good, not too formal. So many kilt wearers overdress just because they have the gear. Leave the PC in the closet until it's appropriate.

    When the missus & I went to see the Spanish Riding School on their North American Tour in St. Louis (2005?), it was very casual -- about the only gent I saw "dressed up" that night was the honoured guest, the grandson of General George S. Patton, who was wearing a blue blazer and a regimental tie of some sort.
