Why not try a hair sporran? Very traditional and "manly" (if that's what you're shooting for...) for formal highland wear.

That's what I was thinking too. It has a respectful history for formal attire and nothing looks manlier than a horse hair sporran.

There is also the more rare feathered sporran (mallard duck or pheasant). I know there is a thread on here about them...
