On this thread they discuss modern looks but it does seem that most of what was discussed seemed to go back toward how to make them more traditional.

So how do you guys think about them from using them as a modern interpretation? Things such as tone on tone are a big rage but didn't go over well when held against traditional gauges. Here we are thinking on how modern style can be TASTEFULLY applied to the kilt. While I know that argyle socks, tartan and tweed can all be worn together in a traditional style (gives my wife the shivers that does) lets not go there with things like paisley and tie-die.
