Well Garret, I guess as long as you're not wearing all three of each at once ...
CMcG, nicely done! And thank you for getting this rolling with a few different looks to shoot for. I have only one suggestion, and that is to roll your hose tops down about 3/4" to 1" farther...see what you think. Also, I like the boots + hose up...gonna try that when I get some appropriate hose. I think I'll try it w/o flashes tho. "Dressy" looks really sharp. I keep hearing how belts are a no-go with a vest, but it works here and looks good, I think.
Guess I should start jonesing over a few new pairs of hose ...

Drac, wear some paisley as penance and consider yourself absolved.

Thank you sir. I just tried rolling the hose down further but they starting falling... partly a function of how my calves are built and that, for comfort's sake, I'm not really willing to tie the garters any tighter!
As for going w/o flashes, I perhaps should have done that with many of my informal pics to give them a more modern look... didn't think of just using the garter without the ribbons till after it was too late.
In the "collarless" pic I left the belt out because the 5 button waistcoat would have covered it. In the "dressy" pic I'm wearing a non-standard 4 button waistcoat... it is cut high and has a peaked bottom, which is what I like to think makes it work when I break the "rule." From what I understand, the belt and vest is normally a no-no because it creates a bulge underneath if the belt is covered or is mostly covered, looks sloppy if the belt is worn low enough to be seen under the vest, and/or just looks overdone. One of the forum's traditional experts could probably give a better explanation of that point of view...

Ok, I like the "Tough Guy" It's very nearly how I wear my kilt in everyday wear, Maybe that's why I like it. I tend to go with a solid colored tee shirt, fat guys should never where solid white tees. I love the look of high-topped boots with a kilt. That's my two cents on the matter and that's more than I make in a month so I have to shut up now.

P.S. I did enjoy the fashion show...

I gotta admit - I'm kind of partial to the Hef look, but I don't have the slippers. Darn!

I was planning on taking a few photos after work tomorrow, but if you watched The Office tonight, my camel-colored corduroy jacket almost exactly match the jacket Andy wore with his, erm, "kilt" in the St. Paddy's Day episode. I was planning on wearing a very similar outfit, just without the tie and sweatervest.
I'll try to get a picture of that tomorrow, as well as some other ideas.

I don't have any pics (I'll try to get some), but lately I've been wearing my olive Utilikilt with a brown or dark green t shirt, a black casual vest (open) with a pocket watch, knee-high socks, black ankle-high boots, and a brown Kangol driving cap. If it's cold, I wear a brown zip-up hoodie instead of the vest. Sometimes I mix up the colors, or wear a tartan with a sporran instead of a Utilikilt, but generally the same look. I think it looks sort of neo-traditional in a way, especially if I wear a tartan.

Slick: if I went clubbing in a kilt I might wear this, though that's kind of a big "if."

Have you been following me to the pub?! Aside from the hat (I own that hat but haven't worn it with the kilt) I wear a black polywool blend driving cap. I may have to dig out that hat for my next excursion.
