How are Black Watch kilts pleated?

Unless 've missed it no-one's mentioned the fact that the Black Watch wore barrel pleats (a reversed, unpressed military box-pleat) for many years during the last century.

Those were great photos...It's kind of hard to tell, but I'm assuming that it's pleated to the double black pinstripe that's centered on the blue...that's the way I'm doing the one I'm working on. It's not easy, given that the blue is sooooo dark...I need bright daylight AND a headlamp to see the black on blue.
