In civilian day wear we can do no better than to use the example set by the best-dressed of us all, the Duke of Rothesay. He wears his flashes with the centre of the pair positioned centred on the outside of his calf, with not more than the ends showing from beneath his hose fold-over. His sgian dugh is worn centred as his flashes, with the hilt peeking out about an inch or so at the top.
