Great job on the video, Nick. I didn't realise just how much work went into that! I have a new respect for the length of Harris tweed I have to find a use for Beautiful work, and the music is smashing in the vid.

That is beautiful. I really enjoyed the video. I have never heard of or thought of a bicycle mechanism for running a loom. Interesting. Ingenious! The music is beautiful. I love my Harris garments. I am really looking forward to seeing what the tartan fabric will be like. Thank you!

The pattern and color the gentleman with the pedaled loom was weaving is exactly what I want a cape made from.
Thanks, Nick, for putting this video together and for including the waulking songs.

Absolutely brilliant, Nick! I enjoyed the pictures that were up before, but the video is much better. I also have to concur with the others about the music. It was the perfect accompaniment to the video. Good show.
I have begun setting aside some money to purchase some cloth, as Amble has told me she'd like to make me a kilt since she had good luck with the one she made herself. The more I see of your Harris Tweed posts the more I think I may be saving longer now because I think I'll have to have one of my designs woven this way. It might take awhile, but I think it will be worth it.
Regards,
Brian

Unfortunately, your link is dead. :-|
Fortunately, I was able to search YouTube! for it and found it successfully. Nice job! My only question is why you aren't wearing any Harris Tweed in the documentary? or are you??

And by the way, I also mentioned at the time that we'd soon be offering tartans in Harris Tweed. Well, we still are. But it's now going to be the summer before they're available, as we want to do the job properly, which includes a major operation to show the yarns available. So watch this space. The plus-side is that you should then be able to design your own! How cool is that? :-)

Very interesting video, thanks for sharing it with us. The process of making the tweed cloth is even more labour intensive than I had imagined.

Spectacular. I'm betting Robert and Chrystel will enjoy this too.

The honest answer is that it was a two day working trip-cum-holiday and since the family was coming too it felt right to dress informally (and warmly!). I hadn't actually intended to make the video before arriving and seeing the amazing process for myself. I then knew I had to, and arranged to come back the next day. We had to cobble it together with the battery life left on my partner's pocket video camera, plus the odd bit from her iPhone video when the juice ran out. Under the circumstances I feel it didn't come out too badly. Thanks for all your kind words.

Our techs took a look at the page display issue and have made a couple of tweaks that we hope may resolve the issue. You may see a white space for a few seconds while the video loads. But please let me know if you again find it doesn't load at all, and I'll get them to look again if so...
