The Bellingham Highland Games - June 05th, 2010

There was a display of original Highland uniforms that belong to a local piper/collector who played the pipes at my wedding back in 1996.
Unfortunately I was unable to ask Ira about the uniforms, so on a couple of them I'm guessing

51st Highland Division, the Gordon Highlanders


The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders


The Black Watch (1865 India campaign)


portions of the above uniform were worn by Ira when he piped at our wedding (also held at Hovander Homestead Park) in 1996.
Since we were Civil War reenactors we had an 1860's themed wedding:

After a two year absence from the Bellingham games (just like moi), the infamous
Wicked Tinkers returned in fine style! Everyone had a grand time.

My family wanted to go see some of the farm animals kept at Hovander. Unfortunately most of the critters (pigs, sheep, goats, etc) were gone!?! All to be seen were the barnyard fowl.

This big ol' tom was one mean, territorial bird!

I told him to behave or he'd end up on our dinner table!! ( )

What a fantastic post! I think you are right on the money with your attributions. I am a WWII reenactor whose unit portrays the 7th Bn Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders; our reenacting fellows also include WWII Black Watch. Your friend has a most impressive collection of kit. I'm not as familiar with the Seaforths and Camerons as I am with the others, but I think you got it all correctly. Nice example of a South African manufacture helmet on the Cameron display--three holes in the rim for a desert havelock [neck covering cloth]. Very impressive. Another uniform he has, but I haven't seen put on display in many years is one of those worn in the Shirley Temple film "Wee Willie Winkie".
