Well, here's a connection- when my group went on Saturday morning to get breakfast, we were all in garb. I was asked if we were part of the Custer reenactment by a patron. I told him "Yes. It's a little known fact that Custer employed a team of caber throwers as body guards. Numerous Crow got crushed by tree trunks throughout the course of the battle." Of course, our chief had to walk by and say "He's BS'ing you. We're here with the Scottish festival." Second time he's done that...

I also have heard of fair understanding between Scots and the Maori of New Zealand. And well we should, we are all tribal warrior cultures that have been oppressed by the same country that shall not be named.
And Nighthawk I feel your pain. Whenever I go out it seems like I have a bachelorette party or two following me. It used to be cool, but since I got married I need to find the off button for the BachelorettePartyAttractor-inator.
After we went to leave, I was the last of my own group out of the bar. There was a girl from the party, all alone in the parking lot, dry heaving. She looked at me with these big tears in her eyes and said "I guess I was too drunk for the party." And she proceeded to throw up all over her hands. Well, being the kind hearted guy that I am, I stood behind her and held her hair until she was done, and then went into the bar to get her water and napkins and help her clean up. She was going to call a cab, and I was going to wait there with her until it came. Gods only know what would have happened to her otherwise, she was in such an inebriated state! She was trying to call the cab company on her cell phone when one of the other girls came back for her, complaining that she had to miss the rest of the party. Interesting thing about that is that the girl who was throwing up was the one who was hitting on me the hardest! And she really was a sweet and interesting girl when she was still sober, so really, I enjoyed (to what extent I could) that parking lot time with her. Once she was done puking, she was fun to chat with- lot's of bubbly personality. After I helped her to the car, she gave me a big hug and (GAG!! The breathe!!) a sweet kiss on the cheek and thanked me for taking care of her. Interesting evening...
