    I've also seen a 1943 depiction of the 43rd on the march in Europe (Germany I believe), and one of the officers is mounted, wearing a kilt (sorry, I don't have it scanned).

    I didn't notice until I saw your post that I posted the incorrect date for the 43rd in Germany. It was a circa 1743 not 1943.

    I went back & corrected it

    I have done some kilted riding. I normally use English tack, as it is more comfortable with my riding boots.
