I'm fairly certain Mike is aware of that. I believe his point is that what you wear under your clothes is your business.

    Unless you're playing on a wind-swept golf course... Then it's EVERYONE'S business

The story is still making the rounds, now with a lament written to commemorate the events:

I thought it was pretty good, but not speaking scots could not be 100% sure.

    cheers

Now all we need is someone to record that version of Donald Where’s Yer Troosers?!
Preferably someone well known, like Mike Meyers or Billy Connolly (although I suspect some here might feel either or both is not the right man!).
    Regards,
    Mike

What Jock said. A quick search on Youtube for "Donald where's yer troosers" will bring it right up, and you will quickly get the tune--the lyrics lamenting Jeff's treatment are great fun:

Dr Foster's Dismissal from Royal Troon Golf Club
An American gentleman was refused permission to play golf because he was wearing a kilt. This song was written in his honour!

On Dr Jeffrey Foster's Dismissal from Royal Troon Golf Club
    (for an apparel violation).

Allegro ma non Troppo.
    Tune; Donald, where's yer troosers?

Oh, I've just come in from the USA,

Real proud of my Scottish ancestray,
So I dress for Golf in an ethnic way

Which means no pants, nor trousers!

    Let the wind blow high
    Let the wind blow low,
Round the links in the Kilt I go,

    But Troon's Royal Secretary said

    "Hullo... Foster! Whaur's yer troosers?"

Said I: pray don't get in a fleg
    This here's my family philabeg!

Said he: I ken, I can see yer legs!

Golf, Sir, is played in troosers…

Said I: the Kilt is my delight

(Except in a gale, for it ain't airtight)

But hey, this thing is my birthright!
So shove your Rules - and trousers!

    Let the wind blow high

    Let the wind blow low,
Back to the States in my kilt I'll go

Where all the honeys yell Yeeee Ho!

    Jeffrey, where's your troosers!

Simply amazing, how awesome is that. I really like the tune by the way.
