    I too have a "MacMillan Black" (as does Hamish) but the tartan is apparently not recognised by the Clan Chief although Clan members also call it that.

    Aye, McClef. The very first thing MacMillan's Son did when we met was to point out that his MacMillan Black tartan kilt was NOT accepted by the clan chief and was, in effect, a fashion tartan. Course, having a wee bit of MacMillan blood myself I already knew that.
