Thick 'n chunky like a good stew, also, proper recycling of old kilt socks
I got a package on Saturday!
For comparison, on the left, my (at the time) one and only pair of kilt socks...those are the ones in all my previous pictures around here (amazing to see 'em clean, huh?). They'll continue to be the "go-to" socks for daily wear, I think. This sock was used for sizing for the other two.
The two on the right are the new ones! The yarn is really soft...I got to pick it out, at a local shop, then it was sent out to someone whom some of you already know, and several balls of yarn plus several phone calls and a couple of emails became these beauties.
A month or two ago, I'd bought two pairs of cheapie kilt socks, in case my good ones were in the mail when I needed to play solo comp, and upon receiving these, I said something like, "good, now I can ditch those other ones." My intent was just give them away to another guy who might need them in a pinch like I did.
A recycling-minded member of the fairer sex happened to ask if maybe she could have them, and as you can see, she has reused them far better than I ever could have used them in the first place:
...Unwanted kilt socks don't die, they go on as thigh highs!
