A significant amount of people with this view, I have found are from the Highlands as well as the Lowlands, and they mainly belong to my age group which is 18-30.gs,
Whenever I have encountered people wearing kilts as part of the tartan army, weddings, travelling abroad etc. The aesthetic appeal of tartan is, I would say the deciding factor when choosing a tartan to wear. I personally have never worn my tartan (mcgregor). I wear buchanan modern, despite never having a relative with the buchanan surname. I wear it purely because I like the colour.
