I want to remark, for the long term record, that a post went missing here- which makes all the latter ones seem a little pointless. Peace out.

The post you refer to Canuck has been removed for Moderator review following a complaint.
It does not render the posts (including mine) that followed pointless as these address the general tenor of the way things were going in any case.

I was just trying to post facts about Irish history because I've studied it for so long and am a proud Ulster and Irish man ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

off-track?
I, on the other hand, was enjoying all of it. So few actually paid attention in
history class. It's discussions like this, with history relevant and in context that
more people realize how fascinating and entangled it can get. Thanks. And I personally am not offended by direct discussion. It can lead in intriguing directions.

well for what its worth
i`ll be in northern Ireland for a wedding this monday coming and i`ll find out first hand how the younger generation(e.g 16-35) of mixed irish see the kilt ,
the last time i wore it over there was a funeral/cremation and noone seemed to say anything but that was a older generation (50 plus )
it'll be interesting to see if anyone over there regard it as part of their own heritage or just see it as purely a scots thing
