It looks like the nearest American unit may be in South Carolina, and the nearest British might be in North Carolina, though. A lot of the links to individual units are outdated, so they aren't much help.

I also know of a Spanish colonial group out of the St. Augustine area, but they might be earlier than what you seek (16th century).
