I thought maybe he was looking far too happy, but then poor old Oz has not had too much to smile about lately, what with that awful weather and loosing "The Ashes"----again----- and all that.

Jock now dives, gently, for cover!!!

And I thought it was a rule, "Don't mention the War" but I think you've got away with it Jock, just this once.

Dear Downunder, what a fine kilt outfit! I think the rougher grass adds to the flair of it all! What about brown shoes and a plain tie? I was taught to match the shoes and belt (not just for kiltwear). Is that old school? Great outfit! Most important though, is that you feel comfortable and free to be.

Oh I thought just mentioning England winning "The Ashes"-----again------in passing would be alright. Perhaps I should have said it another way? How about, Australia loosing "The Ashes"----again? Any better? Sorry if I have unintentionally(hehehe) trodden on a nerve.

Wow!, 32 minutes and no response to this?

In all seriousness, Lukey, I'm not even kilted (yet) and one of the most important things I have learned here is that in the Highlands the idea of matching things, including leathers is not at all a concern - unlike with Saxon wear where matching seems to be paramount. From what I understand it is almost a requirement to wear black shoes and a brown sporran for day wear (HRH Prince Charles even does it, in fact).
According to that view, Downunder is splendidly turned out. I can only hope that I will be able to do it as well when it's my turn.

    Regards,

    Brian
