I saw the category "Country" and thought, 'wonderful, I'll be able to listen to some Scottish folk music

Reminds me of when my wife and I were in Oban in the 1980s and went into a pub where upstairs there was a band doing tradtional Scottish music.

It was fiddle and accordion accompanied by a woman playing synth.

But when she began singing various Scottish songs, it was with a fake American Southern accent!!! Her real accent was a lovely Highland Scots one.
