    So this issue, like every other debate here boils down to two answers. No matter if it is white hose, belted plaids, wing tip shoes, or flat caps whenever someone asks the correct, proper or right way to do something there are two answers they are always given.

    #1 is that there are rules for a reason and the rules say to do it this way, failing to follow the rules will mean you will be shunned and made to drag the stone of shame throughout the town..

    #2 is that there are no rules, never have been and everybody should be free to do as they please. A subset of this non rule rule is that anytime anyone mentions how the military does something they must be rebuked as the original poster can not have possibly been in the military or have been asking about military customs.

    If we just assume both of these answers to have been automatically given upon the posting of any question, many of these threads will be a great deal shorter.
