Ya know it's funny how some say a ascot is dated and turns ones outfit into a costume (costume in the trick or treat sence) but a deer stalker is acceptable. As I remember Sherlock Homes wore both a deerstalker and a ascot.

Actually, there is nowhere in the Holmes canon that mentions a deerstalker. I was told that when Sir Basil Rathbone wore one to play Holmes it was the first time, and it has become the classic image since then.
