Cynthia, you can have the rain we've been getting. I think today's the first day in two weeks that we've had less than a 50% chance of rain. (There's a 30% chance of scattered showers this evening.) This is the wettest April on record for the area (13+ inches).

So far - touch wood - my place is dry on the inside, but there are many roads in town that are closed due to flooding and many homeowners are seeing groundwater seepage (and occasional sewer backups). The experts are hoping that the Ohio River has crested around here, but there's still rain upstream from us that will be affecting things for a few more days.

Other communities around us are even worse off, and the water levels there are still rising. (I heard today that Rough River Lake - about 1 hour SSW - is going to be cresting at 533 ft - 8 ft above flood stage.)

Thoughts and prayers for everyone affected by the rash of damaging, killer storms.
