Nice going fellas.
I am especially impressed to see a paisley tie with a tartan kilt. I think it works. I'll certainly defer to Jock Scott and/or MacMillan of Rathdowne on mixing tartan with paisley, but I like it.
One little tiny nit, age appropriate, won't be a big deal for another ten years or so. The red tie is beautifully knotted, with just enough off centeredness to look perfect. It does need to be tugged up just a little bit more snugly.
You got, really, until your senior year of college to get that straight before you go on the big money interviews.
Do NOT get in the habit of touching the tie knot to see if it needs to be snugged up. You will end up with a dirty smudge in exactly the wrong spot of an otherwise perfectly good tie.
DO get in the habit of glancing in the mirror while you are at the sink in the gentlemen's room anyway. Also, when you get out of the car and close the door, check your reflection in the car window. Generally really ritzy places also have a mirrored panel behind all the elevator buttons. If you are together you can check each other's ties without leaving any fingerprints and without using a mirror.
In ten years of wearing a tie everyday at the office, I have only ever owned two neckties that would stay snugged up all day.
Also, you might look into mastering both the four in hand knot and the Windsor knot. Sometimes switching to the other knot can make all the difference between snugging a tie three times in a day or thirty.
Otherwise you guys are ready for the big time, flash colors, flash position, amount of knee, color co-ordination, all of it, looks great. Not matchy-match, you guys did your homework.
Awesome looking sgians dubh as well, please don't let my commentary bring you down.

You both look great, your parents must be very proud. How were the kilts received at the church?

Very well done lads, well done indeed. The only thing that I'd change other than the afore mentioned tie snug is that I personally prefer my kilt pin closer to the fringe edge. All in all a very nice look, I'm sure you made a good impression at church.

I came back to add that I mean for my foregoing post to be voiced in a kindly, avuncular way.
I am a little bit jealous that one of you found a way to get a paisley tie and a tartan kilt into the same outfit before I did.

Great look the pair of you. I am an advocate of the snugged windsor knot too. The neatest of tie-knots in my opinion.

I personally find the windsor knot a little to boring; it's too short and too symmetrical. The four-in-hand lends a certain elegance without it looking as though you have tried too hard... but it is all down to personal taste.
The tie is only one part of the puzzle in having a neck area you can leave alone all day with the confidence that all is well: a well made shirt that fits properly, a collar style that suits you and the ties you wear, and matching the type of tie to the type of collar; i.e. thicker heavier ties with a more cutaway collar and lighter silkier styles where the points are closer together will all have a big effect... but that is one of the pleasures of building a wardrobe.
I love the waistcoats... especially the lapels!

Thank you all for your kind replies!
As for the tie needing to be snugged up a bit, I completely agree. Tie wearing is the sort of thing that my brother and I don't get much practice at ( I live in rural Western North Carolina, and nobody but a 'businessman' wears a tie.In fact, that Sunday at our church, I beileve we were two of perhaps five folks that sported ties) And I cringed while posting these pictures, even though I had not noticed it the day of. Pictures are often like hindsight, 20/20!
On another note, I do LOVE my paisley tie. Absolutely my favorite tie.
Also, I will try to post close ups of the sgians in the near future!
