Boots with kilt

I have a pair of the Harley boots. Last time I checked they were still available through Sears.

I only wear boots with my kilt unless its a dressy occasion, and then its just oxfords. My favorites are my Ox Blood Doc Martens and my black Flight Deck boots. I also wear gaiters with them, simply because I like the look, and IMO adds a little more Rock-n-roll to the look:

Since I used to wear some 10 eye Docs with my old stewart kilt, I recently bought a pair of corcorans jump boots to go with my soon to arrive casual kilt. They're golden in terms of feel and looks. A bit p[ricey though, but I like to feel it goes to maintaining history.

I almost exclusively wear my black Docs with EVERYTHING, and I'd like to find a taller pair that actually fits my calves better; my legs are so thick that the tongue of the boot doesn't cover the gap at the front of my shin.

same here. I have a 21" calf, so that isanother reason i wear the gaiters.

BTW, the Scottish Tartan Museum (a link is on this webby) sells some hose for those with larger calves.

A Casual kilt from the Borders of England and Scotland and in Casual dress is, as far as I know, perfectly acceptable. I would doubt that dress would be the right thing to wear to a wedding or a more formal event. I do know now that one can dress in a good quality kilt either up or down but it is hard to dress a poor quality kilt up and still look good.
I think most men know if they are dressed right for the occasion... We have learned from our women when they go out with us with questions like..."Do you think these jeans makes my butt look

ith:to fat? ...always say NO! ... another " do you think this dress is too baggy and dose it show my figure off to the best advantage"? Always say YES.
