With my Thrifty I "Wonder Webbed" the pleats down and put just one line of stitching across the bottom, worked fine.

Sorry, "Wonder Web" is a trade name for iron on tape used to put hems on things without having to sew them, may well go under another trade name in your neck of the woods, basically you put this tape between the two surfaces and apply a hot iron, and they stick together, I did this with the pleats instead of sewing them down.

Thanks mate, this sounds like an awesome idea! If it's not too much a bother, any chance I could see a picture of the finished product? I tend to be a bit dense, and seeing things helps me when DIY

I'm coming late to this thread, but given your size, why worry what anyone might think?

Sure thing, but I'm just going away for a long weekend but happy to do so when I get back!

Sweet! I can't wait to see what to do! Also, I am hoping my kilt comes tomorrow or the next day! I will try and post pics asap of the whole process, hopefully for years to come people can redirect to this thread in order to find out about the SWK thrifty and how they wear.
