I've just bought the 'Nightstalker' in brown leather, mainly because I needed a brown sporran. The black cordura looks like a totally different type of sporran. Is one more 'modern' than the other? I don't know. I would be interested to know what others think.

Honestly I think this bring up the "what's this forum about?" question.
I wrote about the sporran I wear with my entirely non-traditional camouflage kilts.....a jansport fanny pack/bum bag. The Nightstalker is a great example of another "sporran" like that.
Here's another example...

Perhaps this might be another example, traditional in shape, but very much not traditional in execution...
