Request: Mobile Profile or App Integration

afaik, Tapatalk is a free add-on to the vbulletin and doesn't require much if any intervention on the part of the host.
The app is free for the Blackberry, but may be a charge for iPhone/Droid.
(I've seen and experienced several horror stories around implementing a mobile skin, even in 4.0)

I access the forum almost exclusively via my android powered smart phone. I don't have any issue with the format it takes on my phone's web browser, but I have looked for the app in the "market" before. It would definitely make a handy additional way to access the forum.

Get about 95% functionality on my android powered htc evo here... I suspect that switching to firefox or opera would get me to 100%, but since it's mainly drop down menus it's not a huge problem...

Any android users having problems might want to make sure the browser is told to look at the regular website not a mobile one...

Biggest problem i have is with typos in replys... Small onscreen keyboard...

As I said a few months ago we would like to upgrade our software to ver 4.0. There are some serious problems though that we are attempting to work out.

The current forum is highly modified. The Tartan background, the custom logo and photo at the top and the advertising slots are where most of the customization is and these will not automatically swap over to ver 4.0. This would require a custom skin to be designed and I just finished paying off the last skin designer.

We also need more, and less obtrusivie advertising space. I currently have 11 advertisers waiting in the wings for space on the top banner. No one seems to like that there are ads at the top though.

None of our custom features will work with any currently available mobile app.

So, folks, until we can find a way to have our cake and eat it too, I'm afraid a mobile app will have to wait. .

Sorry, I didn't realize an upgarde had not been done. Not as active as I'd like to be (hence the request for the mobile app). Thanks for the explanation, Steve.
