Request: Mobile Profile or App Integration
I would like to request either a mobile skin for phone/iphone/android etc. as reading the site on a mobile device is somewhat painful.
Something like is pointed at here on the vBulletin site:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=226946
Or perhaps one of the several 'Forum Reader' apps for either the iPhone or Android phones such as:
Forum Runner:
http://www.forumrunner.net/
or
Tapatalk:
http://www.tapatalk.com/
I've used Forum Runner personally, and it works pretty well, I don't have experience with Tapatalk. But it is one of the competitors out there. The advantage of going the 'app' route is that for non-branded versions they are free for the forum owner. (There may be other forum reader apps out there, but I am not familiar with them.)
Thank you for your consideration.

I'd like to second the motion.
I'm new to the mobile/android scene, and don't understand all the techno-stuff, but I do know that this site is difficult to maneuver around in while on my mobile device. Another forum I'm on seems to have something installed that is tailored to mobile devices and makes it really easy to navigate and read.
I'm betting we have a lot of members here who check in using their mobile devices.

I use my phone to check in while I'm at work and aside from a little getting used to time the misshapen form the forum takes isn't that bad. On my iPad however it looks the same as it does on my comp

The easiest way to explain it would be as a little gizmo whic makes it easier to use Xmarks on your phone

Yeah, what he said.
Jock, I don't know if such things are popular over there, but around here a lot of people are getting rid of their house phones (land lines) and going completely mobile (wireless). The new mobile phones today can do almost everything a full-blown computer can do, including surf the internet. However, the small screen makes it hard to view certain websites that are sized for a full computer screen.
With the modern mobile phones, you can zoom in and see what you need to see, but it's a little awkward, since you're only seeing part of a page at a time. What a lot of websites (and internet forums) are doing is making their pages re-configurable for mobile devices. Basically, the page displays differently when it's accessed by a mobile device, and it's a format that's friendlier for small screens.

I agree! Using the forum via smartphone is a pain.
