Sorry to hear of your fall. Wonderful how it ended though. I hope there are no further problems for you from the fall and that your grandson never loses his natural caring and generosity.

That goes to show he's being raised right! Sympathy for a boo-boo.

Thank you for all the kind words and wishes - the healing powers of plush teddies seem to be strong and true, and apart from two patches of missing surface skin on left hip and elbow where I slid and two agrieved knees which I used to stop myself there seems to be little harm done.
The property is a rental and the landlady would not agree to having a hand rail fitted. On the top third of it there is nothing to hold onto, just bare walls, so with the steep angle and the man made fibre carpet, the staircase is an accident waiting to happen.

Good grief, Anne! I wonder if your landlady may be breaking some safety regulations. Here she'd be nailed right properly and promptly for a tumble under those non-handrail conditions. Glad you're surviving!

Glad you are well after your tumble. Had it been me, I fear the young lad would have learned some new interesting words.

Remember. Cherish. Perhaps check the town's rules governing rental properties?

When I was young and my grandmother or my mom would watch a sad movie and cry I would run to the bathroom and grab the bathroom tissue and run through the house to give it to them to dry their tears. I would never rip the tissue so it would leave a trail of tissue running through the house and half the roll undone. Ahhh kids are great.
Let YOUR utterance be always with graciousness, seasoned with salt, so as to know how you ought to give an answer to each one.

Your story can even make a certified kid-hater smile.
Sue the landlady, though. Call the local council inspector, at the least.
