    More Communication

Just thought I'd let you all know that I was able to talk with Steve. I am happy now with his communication with me.

Some of the issues were due to overload and not properly identifying myself when using my real name vs my forum screen name.

I'd say here that Steve will talk if you can get a-hold of him (sometimes an email may not be enough) Make sure that you properly identify yourself and that your message is worth the time it takes to reply.

I can imagine that Steve has had his hands full with the forum update/revisions to the update, his own business, and that recent "water in the kitchen" mess he shared with us.

From my own experience I can attest: Last week I realized that the link to FlamingoKilts, in my paid ad, was broken. I PM'd Steve at 4:41 PM. By 6 PM, after an exchange of e-mails to determine exactly which page of my site I wished linked, the problem was fixed. Can't ask for much better communication, or response time.

On the other hand, in the past I had an exchange with him in PMs -- well prior to his purchase of the forum -- and it did take longer than it should have, with a few "nudges" from me along the way, before the matter was resolved. Happens to everybody at one time or another, I know my memory goes into overload at the drop of a hat.

Where did I drop that hat?

So -- I don't know why you have not had a response to your inquiries. I've met Steve face to face, and he can be abrupt. Online, in print, I think he sometimes comes across a bit harsher than he ought -- but I think you can see it in many of his posts, so you get used to it and recognize "that's just how Steve is."

I do hope you get the response you are looking for. It's too bad that it has come to the point where you feel the need to post about it.

To anyone who approached me prior to the new upgrade to the site coming on line two weeks ago I had to respond with "I'm sorry there simply is no more ad space available. Please contact me after I have had a chance to upgrade the site and make an announcement of a new advertising plan.

If you wish to advertise your kilts on the site you will be welcome.

All requests for advertising space will be brought to the full staff for review as to the suitability of the product offered and the scope of the site. In general your kilts would be a good fit to our advertising offerings to the members.

I am sorry that somehow your communications did not come across my emails. I started a new email folder for all those who contacted me with advertising requests and I do not find any requests from you. Were you perhaps using a company or your real name and not giving me reference to your screen name? That often happens. I have no way of knowing your real name and sometimes it is impossible to match a real name or company name with a screen name.

If you attempted to contact me by Personal Message here on the site I'm sorry, as the owner I get between 50 and 100 PM's a day. It is not long before my 200 message limit is reached and perhaps I deleted your communication by mistake in an attempt to make room.

This problem with the volume of PM's is why I specifically ask that any advertising requests come to me via email.

I apologize if my not responding to you came across as some slight. I don't have any reason to slight you. In fact all I know about you is that you joined just a few months ago and that your first posts were questions about how to make a kilt.
