I only recognize two kinds of sodas, Coke, which is primarily for mixing with Jack Daniels, and Dr.Pepper which is for everything else.....
Now, what will get my knickers in a bunch is when I ask for a Coke or a Jack and Coke, and they say "is Pepsi OK?" My reponse to that is usually "Sure, is Monopoly money OK?"

Re: What gets your knickers in a bunch?
People who use "you", when they mean "your".
Intelligent people, people with qualifications that took years to achieve, people who run their own profitable businesses, people who are community leaders, people with responsibilities and dependants and others that look up to them - can't tell the difference.
"Move you car!"
"Pull you pants up."
"I like you kilt, you wear it well."
How have they managed to live so long?
Regards
Chas

Yes, I've heard that, but you're from GA, home state of 'Coke', so what else should we expect?

And, unlike all colas, Dr. Pepper can be served hot in the winter.

Actually it's "do you want a coke" and if they actually do then they want a co-cola.

I simply see that as the person effectively saying they don't have Coke, and offering the closest match.

Knickers are pants right? I'm not from the UK so, I'm not exactly privy to a lot of the slang here.

Re: What gets your knickers in a bunch?
I'm from the north (upstate NY) origonally (I can't spell btw) and I've heard people in GA refer to them as fountain drinks but I do hear sodas/pops called coke quite frequently.
