Unfortunately, I'm deaf, so can't use the phone. I could use relay but the lag (due to the interpreter) takes too long. The site is back up now anyway

Ouch! Rocky's right, that stinks. I hope nobody was hurt.

According to their site, no one was hurt.
Not a problem about the relay thing... you can always email me (NOW since the SITE is back up) if you have any questions!

Rocky's website is BACK
Nice to have Rocky's site back. Nick is still down. Good luck to all those electricians.

www.robertburnsstore.com has also been down, among other tartan and kilt sites.

I've tried both stores (and my own) and they're both up... try refreshing your screen.

So Rocky..........
How's your website and email backup/failover/disaster recovery plan going?

going well... we're going to be using a hosting company for our NEW site (to be unveiled in a few months) that's owned by a customer of ours... that way if anything goes down, we don't have to rely on emails and "forum posts" on a website for updates... we'll have a direct line to the owner to get a VERBAL update.
We'll also be registering our domain name here in the US with a company who has a phone #... if anything goes wrong we can call and yell at someone.
The one problem (as I see it) with web companies and the age of the internet is the lack of being able to get a WARM BODY on the other end of the line (if you can find a phone # at ALL). I understand that with technology, some companies are moving away from traditional communication in order to use cheaper methods (email) and have to employ less people, but I don't like doing business that way...
We'll ALWAYS have a direct phone line listed on our website. We'll ALWAYS respond to emails within 24 hours (most times 4 or 5 hours MAX). We'll ALWAYS have a place where you can come and meet us face to face if you'd prefer us to take your measurements. I am "suspect" of companies that don't list a phone # or physical address... ESPECIALLY when I'm providing them with my credit card #. The internet should COMPLIMENT "traditional" methods of communication and interacting and buying things, not REPLACE them.
Sorry for the rant...

Thank you for the update. I know that I rely on USAK for many garment needs and I'm sure I'm not alone. It's good to hear that you'll have some communication with your host in case of trouble.
When everything's in place and ready for the public, you might post something in the vendor section so we can hurry on over and check it out

And troubleshoot it and get free kilts!
Hmm, I've heard that somewhere before...
