Nice photos of an obviously lovely place.... Is there a place to tie a hammock and just lie back?
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Thank you, John, for a set of beautiful photos - one can almost feel the heat coming through them!
Malta looks like being a very interesting place and I wonder if I will ever get there now. I've never been to the Eastern half of the Mediterranean; Menorca in the Spanish Balearics was my haunt for many years, back in the 1960s/70s and the light in your images reminds me very much of that island.
Take care,
Ham.

I have never been to Malta yet but always love seeing pics of the island.
I don't know of any other island that has been awarded the George Cross Medal which it won for its defence against invasion during WW2.

I can highly recommend Malta as a holiday destination for those of you who like fairly quiet, picturesque and very steeped in history places. It's not that big. As I was there seven years ago, I tried not to repeat photos I had taken before. My other ones from then are only prints, but feature more of the Island including the Blue Lagoon and Gozo. The country has featured in many Hollywood movies as a background in films such as Gladiator. They changed to euro currency in January this year. Alex, most of the old buses are family heirlooms, and are therefore privately owned. Good fun to be on, but I'm surprised the drivers haven't gone deaf.
